Hi there, we’d like you to get to know us a little better before you choose our services.
Alison Mulvaney
I’m Alison Mulvaney; Senior Speech & Language Pathologist and director of Mulvaney Speech. I’ve been working in the Hills District of Sydney as a Speech & Language Pathologist for almost 30 years. I love children and I enjoy the challenge of juggling my many roles as mother, wife, business director and consultant. As well as running a busy private practice I consult to mums who need help in getting their work-life balance together. I like to think that I’m a Balanced Woman.
Parents and Doctors like to know that their Speech & Language Pathologist is well qualified so here are my qualifications:
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology from Sydney University and I’m a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP). I also hold a Master of Arts Degree and qualifications as a professional trainer and NLP practitioner. In addition to this I trained when young as a professional actor both in London and Sydney. You can see that l like to learn.
Throughout the past 29 years my work in private practice, my three successful books, and my workshops have helped thousands of parents, teachers, children and business people to improve their communication skills.

As the author of the internationally successful books "LOOK WHO'S TALKING!" (how to help children with their communication skills), “TALKING WITH KIDS” and “BALANCING WOMEN Time Management and Self Esteem for Women” I was fortunate enough to be interviewed for the Myths of Childhood series, and by people such as Margaret Throsby, Geraldine Dooghue, Brian Bury, John Mangos and Ann Sanders. My workshops have been filmed by Channel Nine in Sydney and for the international SBS series “The Child”.
Our workshops are practical and fun and allow you to actively participate and use your new skills straight away, at home and work. I always bring a personal perspective as a mother to my presentations as I see motherhood as my most important role.
We have a busy private practice in Sydney’s northwest and as well assessing and treating my patients and motivating my excellent staff, I enjoy speaking and teaching parents, teachers and business people about communication, self-esteem, time-management and work-life balance.
At Mulvaney Speech we pride ourselves on keeping up with the latest advances in Speech Pathology so we attend regular seminars, to ensure that our skills are the very best and we’re up to date with the latest techniques.
