Our Speech Therapy Holiday Program offers courses for children during school holidays.
The day my 4-year old son met Alison, he happily completed a thorough language assessment for almost an hour. We both immediately felt at ease with Alison and I knew I wanted her in our lives to help our son overcome his language delays. Alison has pinpointed what our son needs help with and is fun and creative in her approach. We always leave with lots of homework making sure what Alison teaches is reinforced at home. She also helped us navigate the NSW health system to find and access other avenues of help as we were concerned that our son had other developmental delays.
As a mother, I have learned how to communicate more effectively with my son just from listening to her sessions. This helped my husband and I extend her work into our everyday lives. We saw the impact of speaking positively and with the right tone in his interaction with his younger brother, his behaviour and his ability to finish challenging tasks.
My son thinks of Alison as a friend and has no idea he is receiving speech therapy at all. Wednesday afternoons is his "playdate with Alison". Alison is a special kind of person - her qualities, qualifications and experience - allowed my son to quickly reduce the gap with his peers.

Is there anything this woman doesn’t know about kids? She assessed our son and he’s been having regular treatment with one of her staff members. My son loves his visits to the clinic. We have just moved from Adelaide and the school here asked us to get a Speech Therapy assessment. We sent to see Alison and she diagnosed our son with dyspraxia, a severe speech problem. He has ADHD as well, so working with him isn’t easy. The therapist at Alison’s clinic has made a huge difference in our son’s life.
